The international team consisted of elite players selected at the "2nd Kim Tae-kyun Baseball Camp" held on the 26th of last month, and Dawson Academy coach Jinyoung Kim and former Doosan Bears coach Chung Jin-ho joined the coaching staff to add practical know-how and leadership to the players.
The Korea-Japan exchange match was held in a total of three games over two days, with Tokyo Bambaada Junior Team invited from Japan participating. The games were 21 to 3, 11 to 6 in 2 games, and 15 to 7 in 3 games, with Kim Tae-kyun's international team winning all of them.
After the two-day game, the best performance award went to Choi Jung-woo (Mokpo Little Baseball Team), Lee Dan-woo (Chungbuk Seokgyo Elementary School), Gu Min-seung (Gangnam Elementary School, Seoul), Bin Seo-joon (Pyeongtaek Little Baseball Team), Kim Seo-bin (Ilsan Seo-gu Little Baseball Team), and Yoo Seung-ho (Uiwangbuk Elementary School). Yoo Seung-ho led his team to victory by showing impressive performance by hitting two home runs in just one inning.
Commentator Kim Tae-kyun said, "I think it is very meaningful that young people who love baseball can gain valuable experiences and serve as a bridge between sports exchanges between Korea and Japan through this exchange," adding, "We will continue to provide such a venue for exchanges to help young people gain hands-on experience and develop an international perspective."
In addition, the two teams stayed together for two nights and three days, and after the game, they built a closer relationship by touring local attractions such as the Hongseong Global BBQ Festival and Hongseong Sky Tower together. The players who participated in this exchange event built a deeper friendship by sharing culture and daily life beyond the game.
Hongseong-gun County Governor Lee Yong-rok and Hongseong-gun Council Chairman Kim Deok-bae, who actively supported the baseball camp, attended the opening ceremony to encourage participants and promised continued support and support for Hongseong-gun's baseball infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Kim Tae-kyun's baseball camp, which marks its second anniversary this year, visited Japan last year and held an exchange match, and this year invited the Japanese team to Hongseong to continue the hot exchange.
